Abstract

The genus Calociasma appears to be polyphyletic and contains members that belong to all three currently recognized subtribes of the Nymphidiini. Only the type species, ictericum, and laius are retained in Calociasma, which belongs to the subtribe Nymphidiina. The taxa pulcherrima, comparata and felicis are removed to Juditha (n. combs.) in the Lemoniadina, and lilina (n. comb.) and its newly described sister species from Panama, robbinsi n. sp., are placed in the new genus Calicosama n. gen. in the Theopeina. Calicosama is characterized, and its biology and systematic position discussed.
